Add a ModificationLink

A ModificationLink can be created by connecting a SpeciesAlias and a ReactionLink.

ReactionLink = BaseLink + ReactantLink + ProductLink + ModificationLink

To add a ModificationLink to a Reaction

  1. Select a ModificationLink icon from the Reaction Toolbar.
    Reaction Toolbar
  2. Select a SpeciesAlias as a Modifier.
  3. Select the ReactionLink for the target base.
  4. The connection point(s) will be highlighted as blue when you place the cursor over the target ReactionLink.
  5. As there is no logical distinction with the point of the connection, connect at a favorite place for visual convenience.
  6. It is possible to connect arbitrary numbers of ModificationLink(s) to one BaseLink.

    Insert Multiple Lines

Where to connect a ModificationLink

The connecting points on the BaseLink are a process node.

ReactionLink = BaseLink + ReactantLink + ProductLink + ModificationLink

When a ModificationLink is added, in respect to the logic structure of a model, there is no increase or decrease in the number of Reaction(s). The ModificationLink is connected to the BaseLink and becomes a part of the Reaction.

To check which Modifiers are added to a Reaction

  1. In the List Area, click Reactions tab.
  2. In the list, see the modifier column.
