Degradation

The Degradation is used to express the amount of decomposition.
Degradation, as well as Homodimer Formation, is provided in CellDesigner as an automatic batch tool.

To create a Degradation

  1. Select a SpeciesAlias on Draw Area.
  2. Click Degradation icon ( [Degradation] icon ) from the Toolbar.
  3. Click on the SpeciesAlias on Draw Area.
  4. A new Degraded SpeciesAlias Degraded is created and connected by a State Transition Reaction to the original SpeciesAlias.

There is no special joint relation between the created Degradation sign and the ReactionLink. (as well as HomodimerFormation.)

This protein degradation shown below consists of two SpeciesAliases. Please note that they do not stem from the same Species but belong to different ones. The first one is an alias of Protein class Species and the second is of Degraded class Species.
