Select a SpeciesAlias
Select Mode
You should select the target SpeciesAlias before you edit, move, delete or modify it.
After you have put a new component on Draw Area, the Select Mode icon will automatically be selected so that you can immediately select and move the component. This is the initial setting of CellDesigner.
To select a SpeciesAlias:
- Confirm that Select Mode icon is highlighted. If not, click the icon.
- Click the target SpeciesAlias.
- The SpeciesAlias selected is displayed in red.
- When the SpeciesAlias has some reactions connected to it, all the connected reactions are also highlighted.
- This implies that the highlighted reactions are also affected by the editing of the SpeciesAlias.
You can change the color of highlight:
To change the color settings, select Preference - Components Color & Shape... menu.
To select multiple SpeciesAliases
- By click one by one:
Press [Shift] key while clicking the target SpeciesAliases.
You can add the targets SpeciesAliases as many as you like.
- By specify an area:
Click and drag the cursor to specify the area.
All the SpeciesAliases in the specified area are selected and highlighted in red.
To select all the SpeciesAliases
- Select Select All from Edit menu to select all the SpeciesAlias in the model.
- You can also use Ctrl-A.
To release a selected SpeciesAlias
- While the SpeciesAlias is being selected (highlighted in color), click on the target while pressing [Shift] key.
- You can only release the SpeciesAlias you click. If you have selected multiple SpeciesAlias, the rest of the selected items remain as selected.
To avioid the automatic Select Mode
- Select Edit menu in the Menu.
- Select Input Repeat.
To switch temporarily to the Select Mode
- While the Select Mode icon is NOT selected, hold down the "s" key on your keyboard.
- Select a component and move it.
- Release the "s" key to go back to the previous mode.
