Setting the Kinetic Laws / Parameters

To set a kinetic law to a reaction:

  1. In the "Reaction" list, select the target reaction.
Or click on the reaction on canvas with right mouse button, then select “Edit Reaction” menu.
    The KineticLaw dialog will appear.
  2. Set the Kinetic Law at "math" column.

Note: In “math” formulae, Species ID, not Speices Name, should be specified.

  3. To enter Species ID in "math" column, you can click the target Species on canvas, and press [copy] button below the “math” field. The ID will be automatically input to the field.

To set a local parameter:

  1. To set a local parameter for the kinetic law formula, click [New] button in the above KineticLaw dialog window to specify the parameter id, name, value and units.

To set a global parameter:

  1. From the "Parameters" tab in the list window, select [NEW] to create a new global parameter.

Note: CellDesigner supports subset of MathML representation of functions, which is defined in SBML Level 2 specification. You can see the list of supported functions in Section 3.6.1 of SBML Level2 spec which is available from the following URL:
